As the NOW Conference approaches, we wanted to provide the opportunity for interested individuals to engage in further discussion. As such we are going to be posting questions for discussion. These questions will allow you to dialogue with others on the issues as they pertain to this generation.

Question for Discussion:

As we look through history, we can see that the Church has changed. Some of the changes include, its buildings, its language and even in some cases its beliefs. As we evaluate our ministries in an attempt to reach the 16-29 year old generation what are the essentials we must hold on to?

I think if we hold onto the confidence that God has things in control and we shouldn't worry about what we need to be holding on to. If we become concerned about holding on to things we actually miss what we are supposed to be doing.

As our times are changing for mass communication, one might consider that a conference presentation such as this could reach far more interested people if handled as a live web voice or video broadcast. As a student at the Moody Grad School. Langley BC is a tad far.

I think that we need to hold onto the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way that we can be saved. While there remains a lot of ways to communicate Jesus, we need to retain the truth of his message. The truth of his message is found in the Bible. While I realize that over the years our interpretations of the Bible have often been askew and has even been used many Christians to do some terrible things, that in its purest form is still the words of God and should guide our ministries. What are the essentials: Jesus and God's word (the Bible)

Christianity has an image problem.

...many of those outside of Christianity, especially younger adults have little trust in the Christian faith and esteem for the lifestyle of Christ followers is quickly fading... they reject Jesus because they feel rejected by Christians.
